The term Landscape is a key concept in geographic science. This expression, in short, refers to everything that the individual abstracts from space from his senses (sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste), which makes this term a relationship between human beings and their formation of material and intellectual appropriation of the quite.
The expression natural landscape, in this context, is inserted as a typification created in opposition to the cultural or geographic landscape, which is the one produced or transformed by anthropic activities. Therefore, natural landscapes are those spaces that have not yet been humanized or that have received little interference of activities based on the use of techniques, main producing and transforming elements of space geographical.
Understanding the elements of nature, as well as their location and spatial distribution across different places, it is important in the sense of helping to clarify its effects on society and its practices. In this sense, it is important to assess not only the landscapes and places themselves, but also the relationships and techniques necessary for their use and preservation.
You can check, in this section, texts related to the different morphoclimatic domains and biomes – such as the Amazon, the Cerrado, the Atlantic Forest, the Pantanal, the Savannas, the Tundra, among others – in addition to countless phenomena and natural elements, such as deserts, seas and other places and natural landscapes existing in our planet.
