Singapore's special operations team conducted a controlled explosion on Tuesday morning (26) of a aerial bomb weighing around 100 kg, from the time of Second World War.
To ensure safety, 4,000 people were evacuated from the area during the procedure. After the detonation, authorities declared buildings and roads safe, allowing residents to return to their homes, according to police confirmation.

Notably, authorities made no reference to the origin of the bomb that was exploded.

It is important to note that this is not the first time that a World War II bomb weighing around 100 kilograms has been discovered and disposed of in Singapore.
In 2016, another similar item was found and neutralized, although no civilian evacuation was reported on that occasion, according to information from local newspaper The Straits Times.
