The initial stage of monetization on the social network was launched on July 13th, targeting users North Americans, especially those who have a publication trajectory aligned with the guidelines of the platform.

In the United States, the payment process considered impression history, also known as as views, starting in February, when the social network revealed its monetization.

This retroactive approach resulted in payments reaching the $40,000 mark for some users.

How will it work in Brazil?

Monetization on X requires a set of criteria for users to qualify for this opportunity.

In addition to being an X Premium subscriber, they must have achieved a total of 5 million organic tweet impressions over the last three months, without using paid promotion strategies.

To join the monetization program, you must be 18 years old or over, completely fill out your profile information, have a verified email and not have violated the platform's terms of use.

Other requirements include having more than 500 followers and meeting a series of additional criteria detailed on the service's website.

The combination of all these criteria aims to ensure that users looking to monetize their content meet a minimum standard of involvement and quality, in addition to adhering to the guidelines and policies of the platform.

To date, there has been no official statement from the platform regarding the application of this retroactivity for Brazilian users, despite the implementation.

X also did not provide answers to the press regarding this issue, and the doubt will continue until, perhaps, the first influencers are paid.

Therefore, it remains to wait until Brazilian content creators speak out to confirm whether or not they will receive payments based on the announcement of the implementation of this feature in February.
