The castle in question is located in the Shetland archipelago, in Scotland, and is sold for the low price of 189,000 reais, which attracts the attention of interested parties. The sale price is well below the average sale price of an ordinary house in Scotland, let alone a castle.
However, it is worth emphasizing that, in addition to the purchase, the cost of renovating the castle is estimated at 75 million reais, which could make the sale difficult.
Castle Brough Lodge on the island of Fetlar is a composite structure of the castle building, towers, courtyard and garden. All this in more than 16 hectares, almost 162 thousand square meters, considered of national importance.
The story
Originating in 1820, the castle was built at the request of the merchant Arthur Nicolson, who was inspired by his travels to castle building, especially in the architecture of France, Switzerland and Italy from era.
It was the Nicolson family residence until 1980, when, after moving, it was transformed, in 1998, into a retreat. It has space for yoga and knitting classes, as well as a beautiful view of the North Sea, for tourists and locals.
The proceeds from the sale would be used to maintain these classes, with the aim of attracting tourism and teaching children about the customs of the region.
