Auxílio Brasil amount of R$600 is not guaranteed and depends on the National Congress
On August 17, the TAG Summit event took place in São Paulo, a reference for investors and held by the manager TAG Investimentos. In it, the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, was present.
On the occasion, the minister spoke about the Brazil Aid for next year and stated that the payment of the benefit in the amount of R$600 depends on the approval of the tax reform by Congress National.
According to Paulo Guedes, it is essential to create a tax that aims to tax profits and dividends. According to the minister, only through this path will it be possible to raise the R$52 billion necessary to maintain the program's value at R$600.
At the moment, the tax reform is being discussed in the National Congress and depends on the approval of the senators. However, the so-called PEC 110, responsible for reformulating the national tax system, should only be voted on in 2023, after the electoral race.
What is Brazil Aid?
Created by the Federal Government in 2021, the Auxílio Brasil program consists of the unification of public policy programs for social assistance, education, employment, income and health.
The program aims to allocate income in the form of direct and indirect transfers to families in social vulnerability, such as poverty and extreme poverty around Brazil, and aims to guarantee autonomy to this portion of the population.
After the approval of the PEC that allocated more than R$40 billion to social benefits, the Auxílio Brasil had an increase of R$200 in its value and will be paid until December 2022 in R$600.
Payment of the first installment with the new amount, relative to the month of August, began on the 9th for who has final NIS 1, and it was completed on the 22nd of the same month, for beneficiaries with final NIS 0.
