Learn more about the new research discovery
According to data presented by researchers at the China Medical University, in 2021, drinking two glasses of wine a week could help prevent Covid-19 infection.
In this sense, this study published by the American Journal of Cancer Research, pointed out that the blocking functions caused by wine in some characteristics present in the virus infection are the main reason for this protection.
With this, it was verified that tannic acid, when coming into contact with the Sars-CoV-2 virus, helps the body to inhibit the enzymatic activity caused by the coronavirus by up to 90%. However, it is worth mentioning that although the studies point to this result, the conclusive state of the research has not yet been carried out.
In addition, researchers are also looking to see if other foods that also have the acid can help prevent Covid-19.
Effect of alcoholic beverages to help prevent coronavirus
In addition to the aforementioned study, another study published by Frontiers in Nutricion pointed out that the Sars-CoV-2 virus, behaves in different ways in the body when coming into contact with different types of alcohol.
In this sense, they analyzed approximately 500,000 people to more accurately address this effect. Thus, it was understood that only some specific substances of some alcoholic beverages could create the “protective” effect of Covid-19. Thus, the beverages included in this list are red wine, white wine and champagne. Therefore, other beverages and beverages do not have the same preventive effect.
