Care for Planting Pitaya
Whoever is going to plant pitaya can choose between planting directly in the ground.
For those planting in the ground, it is recommended to use a large vase with direct contact with light, as space and light are necessary.
However, be careful, Pitaya should sunbathe during the cool hours of the day, with morning or late afternoon times being indicated. When choosing to plant seeds, you must remove them from a pitaya that is ripe and only take them to the ground after the seed has been washed and the substrate prepared.
In order for the soil to be richer, you can use organic fertilizer, such as eggshells, worm humus and vegetable peelings. When planting, make sure there is at least a 2.5 cm space between the seeds, and during the germination period, water every day.
Thus, you will start to see the branches of the plant in 8 to 12 days. But stay tuned, because when sprouting the watering should decrease.
As it grows, you should reduce the watering until it is 3 times a week, never leaving the soil soaked.
When fully grown, the plant will need at least 10 hours of sun a day at the recommended times.
about the weather
Even though it is very adaptable to different climates and temperatures, pitaya adapts better to the tropical climate, as it is a fruit from the tropics.
Thus, the ideal temperature to grow it is between 18°C and 26°C in environments with low air humidity.
Although it can be easily planted in colder environments, it is interesting to use greenhouses to control temperature and lighting.
So, now that you know how to grow Pitaya, how about separating all the necessary materials and starting to have your Pitaya at home?
