Brazilian teams grow on social networks such as Instagram and TikTok

To the social media with more accesses currently are Instagram and TikTok, becoming increasingly common in the daily lives of young people. With that, these social networks helped the teams of soccer country to have more online visibility. This growth was shown in the latest edition of the Digital Ranking of Brazilian Clubs, by IBOPE Repucom.

According to the survey, 50 analyzed clubs added together more than 3 million new followers until August of this year. TikTok and Instagram were the networks that most contributed to the growth of followers of these Brazilian teams. From January to August this year, they accounted for 77% of participation in the earnings of new subscribers on the clubs' social networks. Instagram accounts for 43% of those earnings, and TikTok contributed 34%.

The five teams that grew the most, with about 66% of this verification period, were Flamengo, Corinthians, Palmeiras, Santos and Vitória. They represent about 2 million subscribers.

Flamengo, Libertadores finalist and owner of one of the biggest fans in Brazil, reached 49 million registrations in August, thanks to the addition of one million followers on its platforms. On Instagram, there were over half a million followers by August. The club topped the ranking on all platforms and social networks, ranking second only on YouTube, where it received around 20,000 new subscriptions.

Corinthians leads the second place in the ranking of additions, registering 514 thousand new registrations in the club's social networks. On the YouTube channel, Timão ranked first on the list along with Palmeiras, where both recorded 30,000 new subscriptions. Instagram accounted for 51% of the team's new followers. On Facebook, Corinthians reached the mark of more than 11 million followers and on the others, it ranked second in terms of growth.

Palmeiras, like Corinthians, stood out on YouTube, placing third in the ranking, where it reached more than 200,000 new entries in its accounts. The highlight was on Instagram, where the team reached more than 100,000 new followers.

Santos, on the other hand, grew and performed better on TikTok, the platform that made the club attracted more than 68,000 new subscribers, thus representing 42% of the 160,000 new followers of the team.

Vitória was fifth in the ranking, with a positive balance of more than 160,000 registrations on all its digital platforms. The team from Bahia attracted, through Instagram, 170 thousand new followers, reaching the milestone of 1 million people on the network. However, unfortunately, on Twitter, the club recorded a loss of 35,000 followers.

Currently, in Brazil, only 16 clubs have the long-awaited mark of more than 1 million subscribers.
