Agreement between Amazon and Azul airline
Since the last day 07, Amazon debuted in a new mode of delivery of products in Brazil: the airline. Yes, that's exactly what you read! The new service is provided through a partnership between Amazon and the carrier Azul Linhas Aéreas.
Thus, Amazon's objective is to improve the speed of shipping in the North region of Brazil, as delivery takes about five to seven days in these locations. However, now, with the new delivery model, the deadline has been reduced to just two days!
Although this is still an initial contract and does not feature specific cargo planes for delivering the products, it is a crucial step for this service. Thus, the expansion or not of this project depends on the type of demand that Amazon will have.
After all, to guarantee and make the agreement viable, the company needed to ensure a minimum space in the belly of Azul's commercial aircraft. That is, Amazon buys a certain area in the overhead compartment of planes once a day.
Therefore, the products leave a distribution center located in the municipality of Cajamar, in São Paulo, and are destined for the North of the country. Finally, the company Azul emphasizes that it intends to work punctually, efficiently, with quality and low cost to deliver Amazon products.
In addition, the company plans to align package delivery with technology, such as autonomous drones. Thus, Amazon continues to work to innovate more and more, bringing confidence and security in deliveries.
