Rio de Janeiro will host the prestigious summit of the G20 in November 2024, welcoming the leaders of the world's leading economies. This news was released by Cláudio Castro, governor of Rio, through his Twitter account.
The G20 is made up of 19 countries – including Brazil – and the European Union, with the rotating presidency granted to each member nation.

The President Nation hosts the highly anticipated annual summit meeting. This year, the honor goes to India, and on the 9th and 10th of September, New Delhi will host.
As of December of this year, Brazil will assume the presidency and it will be the turn to host this important global meeting next year.

The G20 is made up of major world powers such as Brazil, the European Union and India, in addition to China, the United States, Indonesia, Russia, Germany, France, Japan, United Kingdom, South Africa, Italy, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Australia, South Korea, Canada and Mexico.
And thinking of further expanding the representativeness of this group so important to the world economy, the 2024 meeting will have 20 members of the group.
In addition, there will also be ten invited nations, including Paraguay and Uruguay, which are part of Mercosur, in addition to Brazil and Argentina, which already make up Group 20.
