Shane Osborne, architect of cloud solutions at Microsoft, was the one who spoke about the topic. Despite stating the launch of the novelty, he did not go into detail about what exactly it is about.
Although there is the mystery, it is speculated that the novelty is linked to xCloud tests in video games. After all, Osborne works precisely with data storage in the cloud.
“I've been in so many meetings with the Xbox team this week and all I can say is… Holy cow! There are some cool things being developed right now.” That's what senior Xbox design researcher Jessie tweeted.
Shane Osborne responded to the co-worker's tweet: “I can't wait for the new feature going into testing this week. It's going to be very cool".
The xCloud Project
xCloud is one of the most awaited tools by console users. Phil Spancer himself even confirmed its launch for Xbox scheduled for 2021.
Through xCloud, Xbox players can easily play their games on their cell phones or tablets. The game is hosted directly in the cloud, which means no download is required.
Titles such as Devil May Cry 5, Tekken 7, Forza Horizon 4 are available, in addition to several others. All this without spending franchise or consuming device memory.
However, the tool is not available for the console. Therefore, the possibility of implementing xCloud in the video game is eagerly awaited.
The life of passionate players would be much easier. Backlog of games would become a problem of the past. Even more so in regions where the internet connection is not up to par, like in Brazil.
The technology for storing games in the cloud can be something really innovative if it reaches consoles.
