The Malibu, California resident managed to escape being crushed by a huge boulder after receiving a call from his girlfriend, who lives with him. Mauricio Henao was heading towards his car, which was parked across the street, when he realized that his partner was calling.
The call was to ask him to come home and get a bag she had forgotten.
When he decided to stop to take the call, he ended up delaying his arrival at the car. Time was enough for him to avoid becoming the victim of a tragedy: being crushed by a huge rock that fell on the car.
In an interview given to KTLA, Maurício reported hearing a bang. When he decided to run out of the house, he saw that his vehicle was crushed. The huge rock had descended from the slope and landed right on top of the roof of the car, a sedan. The accident happened last Tuesday, January 10th.
“The rock is the size of the entire hood. The windshields are all broken, and the structure of the car is all twisted,” said the American in an interview.

Luckly, no one got hurt. The suspicion is that the stone was somehow moved after a storm that hit the region the day before. The man reported that he was very shaken by what happened.
Honestly, I don't think I'll park here again after this. I'm a little traumatized by this whole ordeal," Maurício told ABC News. After the scare was over and he felt more relaxed, he took it as a sign of good luck and joked: “I think I'll play in the lottery“.
