The practice of a telemarketing pushy has become common in Brazil, where people have learned to spend their day rejecting spam calls. But what few know is that this practice, when intense and invasive, is illegal, and thus, the citizen can file a complaint on the Consumer Portal of the National Consumer Protection Information System (Sindec). For example, customer complaints recently resulted in the suspension of 180 companies for abusive telemarketing.

180 companies stop working
The suspension was enacted on the 18th, and is already valid for all companies targeted by the sentence. In this case, this was a joint action by the National Consumer Secretariat (Senacon) and the Public Ministry of Justice and Public Security. Thus, these bodies chose the companies that record complaints on the Sindec platform and investigated them.
In this way, it was possible to verify the presence of abusive and recurrent telemarketing, even after the citizen showed disinterest in the product or service. In addition, the bodies also investigate how these companies got the contacts they used in the calls. Apparently, the acquisition would have been made through illegal mechanisms, such as the purchase of data or leaks.
As a result, these companies are permanently prohibited from carrying out any activity in Brazil. In addition, failure to comply with the decision to close activities can result in a daily fine of BRL 1,000, which can reach up to BRL 13 million. In all, there were 180 companies that stopped working due to the inconvenient practice.
How to report abusive telemarketers?
Finally, it is necessary to emphasize that this action is the result of a careful analysis of complaints made by consumers. Therefore, if a number bothers you with inconvenient and insistent calls, know that you can report them. To do this, just go to the Sindec website and make your complaint. Thus, these companies can undergo an investigation process that will eventually find irregularities capable of taking them out of the market.
