Ways to find out Wi-Fi network password from PC
You can find the saved passwords on your Windows or Mac. For this, we list two steps by steps:
WiFi on Mac
All those saved on a Mac are stored in its own management system, Keychain Access. So, to start the process, you need to open Keychain and follow the guidelines below:
- In the sidebar, click on “system” and then on “system keys”;
- Then, in the top bar, click on “passwords”;
- Look for the name of the desired Wi-Fi network to discover the password and double-click on it;
- Check the “show password” box and do what is asked;
- Finally, the field intended for password will show the combination you used to connect to the network.
WiFi on Windows
Finding password is easy but requires some patience. Windows gives you two options: discover the numbers of the network to which it is connected and the passwords of all that are saved.
WiFi network for the password that is currently connected:
- Click on “Control Panel” > “Network and Internet” > “Network and Sharing Center”;
- Then click on the name of your Wi-Fi network;
- In the “status” part, click on “wireless properties” and then on “security”;
- Finally, check the “show characters” box to display the numbers.
Wifi network for all passwords:
- Right-click on the Windows icon on the taskbar;
- Select “Windows terminal”;
- Type “netsh wlan show profile” and press “enter”;
- Once you find the desired Wi-Fi network, type “netsh wlan show profile *Wi-Fi name* key=clear” and again press “enter”.
