Mathematics lesson plan: parallel lines cut by transversals (9th grade)

Methodology

1st stage

Presentation of the concept and properties of pairs or bundles of parallel and transversal lines. As this content has already been visited in previous school years, the effort can be low, focusing on the next steps.

2nd stage

Identification of the angles formed by the cross section on the parallels. At this stage, you must provide:

  • Corresponding angles;
  • Alternating internal and external angles;
  • Vertex opposite angles.

The use of the blackboard for demonstration or other visual resource is fundamental. Exercises should be solved to introduce the common types of problems this topic addresses.

3rd stage

Distribution of exercises, whether printed, using books and teaching materials or on the blackboard. Students should practice identifying angles and applying the concepts taught. Circulate around the room and help students with questions.

4th stage

Evaluation application to verify if the students understood the presented content. Ask questions about identifying angles and solving problems involving parallel lines cut by transversals.
