Can you recognize the signs of attention deficit?

It is very common to hear, especially in a school environment, that restless children have Attention Deficit Disorder with Hyperactivity, the famous ADHD This relatively common disorder exists and manifests itself in childhood, generally following the individual throughout their life. But do all restless individuals have ADHD?Do you know how to recognize the signs of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder?

ADHD symptoms

The classic clinical picture of a person with ADHD is a triad: inattention, hyperactivity and impulsiveness. See a little more about each of these symptoms:

  • inattention:Usually, people with ADHD are inattentive and may therefore not pay attention to details, making simple mistakes through carelessness or having difficulty organizing your activities. These people tend to avoid tasks that involve constant mental effort, easily distracted by external stimuli, forgetting daily activities and not following instructions correctly. In addition, they may find it difficult to finish their activities and to listen when talking directly to them.

  • hyperactivity:People with ADHD can be very restless, often leaving places where they should sit, running in inappropriate situations, talking a lot and having difficulty participating in activities that require silence.

  • impulsivity: People with ADHD can give hasty answers even before the questions have been asked, present difficulty in waiting your turn in carrying out an activity and interrupting or interfering in the affairs of other people.

Typically, people with ADHD try to avoid activities that involve mental effort for a long period of time.

It is worth noting that having inattention, hyperactivity or impulsivity does not necessarily mean that a person has ADHD. These symptoms can be related to other problems and not just Attention Deficit Disorder with Hyperactivity. To be sure of the diagnosis, it is necessary to analyze all symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity, checking their frequency and intensity, their persistence and the damage they cause in the life of the people.

Thus, the symptoms described here serve as a warning to seek medical help. Only a qualified professional is able to diagnose and, consequently, establish a treatment program for this disorder.
