Meaning of Hypocrite (What it is, Concept and Definition)

Hypocritical can be a person who has hypocritical attitudes, or herself a fake person, pretend, which does things that it wouldn't actually do, in another situation.

Regarding the origin of the word, it comes from the Greek, and served to qualify the artistic act of playing a role, initially describing an actor or actress.

A hypocrite is a person who acts like someone else, who uses hypocrisy, who is not loyal, and especially who is not someone to be trusted. A hypocrite person is one who pretends to be what he is not, whether through religion, virtues, characteristics, ideas, feelings, and so on. The hypocritical person pretends to have something he doesn't have, whether to please others, to get closer to a certain group, or even to improve his own self-esteem.

A hypocritical act is when someone criticizes someone's attitude, when they do the exact same thing, or even worse. The hypocrite doesn't even think about this fact, all he wants is to be at an advantage over other people. Another example of a hypocrite is someone who wants to do something, and criticizes people who do it, even if he wants to, just to belittle others.

A hypocrite is also a devious, demagogue person who pretends to be something he is not.
