Startup creates platform for those who lost their jobs in the pandemic


THE new coronavirus pandemic it has had consequences for the health and pockets of people all over the world.

With social distancing and emergency measures adopted to contain the spread of Covid-19, many businesses had to close their doors and, consequently, reduce their workforce.

According to the Brazilian Institute of Economics of the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (Ibre/FGV), the economic crisis caused by the new coronavirus it should leave 12.6 million unemployed in Brazil alone.

In numbers, the rate of people without a formal job in the country, which was already high, will more than double – from 11.6% to 23.8% of the population.

Thinking about it and seeking to help workers who were left without a job due to pandemic, the recruitment company Connekt created Reconnektados on its platform.

Reconnektados is a specific area in the Connekt website for those who had their functions affected in the current scenario or who are looking for a job for a long period of time.

The outplacement project, #Reconnektados - Talent Bank, accepts the candidacy of people who were fired because of the effects of the new coronavirus. To do this, just access the link and the candidate's profile will be shared with the companies that are hiring.

“Our goal with this is to become a channel that not only offers vacancies, but also thinks about the country's employability”, highlights Celson Hupfer, CEO of the startup.

Now, companies looking for the profiles of these employees can register for free at the platform. The recruiter is responsible for choosing candidates according to the positions and requirements requested by the organizations.

The initiative was conceived at the end of April this year and, since then, around 10 thousand people have registered on the platform in search of opportunities.
