Mother's Day Project for Kindergarten and Elementary Education

O Mothers Day it has remote origins, traced back to ancient Greece, when on a given day of the year motherhood was honored in a great festivity. In Brazil, the holiday and commemorative date was made official in the 30s of the 20th century during the government of Getúlio Vargas, responding to the demands of feminist groups at the time, who had won the right to vote also. The date was created to give women more visibility in the life and daily life of society.

JUSTIFICATION:

Mother's Day is a date that honors not only one of the support pillars of the family, but also all women and the act of motherhood itself. A pedagogical project on Mother's Day will naturally deepen different concepts, such as the notion of family, of identity (belonging), culture, origin and perpetuation, in addition to awakening love, gratitude and respect for the mother or figure maternal.

GOALS:

  • Working with oral and written language;
  • Develop interpretive capacity, creativity and abstraction;
  • Develop logical reasoning;
  • Instigate affection, respect and gratitude for the mother figure;
  • Identify the mother's characteristics (know her);
  • Inspire collaboration with the family;
  • Understanding the concept and function of a home, and these are the characteristics of an ideal home.

DEVELOPMENT:

  • Don't leave it to the last minute, work the Mother's Day theme a few weeks in advance so that the project's culmination is on Mother's Day itself or in the week it will take place;
  • Probe the students: Ask them to describe their mother orally in a conversation with the whole classroom, who are they? What do they like to eat, watch on television and what do they do when they are free?
  • If they do not know the answer to many of the questions asked in the survey, use the moment to encourage them, propose that they interview their mothers for homework! This activity will help with oral and written communication (language) and discipline.
  • Be careful if any student has family problems with the mother, be careful to probe throughout the year the close family relationships of your students. As a teacher (a) keep an individual record where you note each peculiarity of your students. This helps a lot in this type of pedagogical project and avoids embarrassment;
  • make them sing tribute songs to mothers, watch movies that focus on the maternal relationship;
  • Graphics;
  • Games and directed games;
  • Cutting and pasting;
  • use of activities who develop spontaneous and creative writing, make dictations, ask them to invent a poem (if you have poetry work with them before), or produce a narrative text about the things they do together with their mother;
  • Concepts: Work what a holiday is, a commemorative date, a tribute, motherhood, family, among others.
  • Helper Number 1: In this activity, suggest that everyone finds a way to make their mother's daily life easier (not messing up, obeying) and commit to that for the rest of the year. Keep a record of the progress of work through the scrapbook or some digital means to evaluate them.
