Meaning of CNH (What it is, Concept and Definition)

CNH is the acronym of National driving license, also known as a driver's license, driver's license. It is a mandatory document for any citizen who intends to drive a motor vehicle.

The current CNH contains a photograph, CPF number, RG number, among other information about the driver. Therefore, it can also be presented in Brazil as a citizen's identification document.

Information introduced in the CNH is about the ability of the driver to drive the vehicle to carry out a paid activity of transporting passengers or cargo.

Those interested in obtaining a CNH must fulfill the requirements below:

  • be over 18 years of age;
  • knowing how to read and write;
  • have an identity card or equivalent;
  • have their own CPF.

CNH is divided into categories A, B, C, D and E, according to the type of vehicle the driver is authorized to drive.

Category A, enables the driver to drive a motorcycle. Category B, driving cars. Category C, enables you to drive a truck. Category D, enables you to drive buses and vans. Category E brings together categories B and C, with coupled units or trailers and trails.
