PE is a discipline that aims to improvement, control and maintenance of the health of the human being's body and mind.
It consists of a set of planned and structured physical activities to promote the physical conditioning of children, young people and adults through the practice of different sports.
The Physical Education classes are guided by a professional graduated in the Physical Education course, whose subjects are essentially linked to Biological and Health Sciences. The professional leaves with preparation for pedagogical teaching and to work mainly in school environments.
The Physical Education course is different from a Sports Science course, as the professional of Sport works in the physical preparation of athletes and teams, in the management and organization of events sports etc.
In the education system, the subject of Physical Education is mandatory for all students. The Ministry of Education's official program aims to promote a diversity of contents that must be worked with students throughout their school career.

1. Gymnastics, games, sports and fights: include individual and team sports, traditional games, fights and various gymnastics;
2. Rhythmic and expressive activities: body expression classes such as theater and dance, whether classical, contemporary, folkloric, popular or ballroom;
3. Knowledge about the body: theoretical classes involving concepts of anatomy and other aspects related to the relationship with the body in different cultures.
