Meaning of Armageddon (What It Is, Concept and Definition)

Armageddon (in English) or Armageddon (in Portuguese) means the place where the final battle between the forces of good and evil, according to the Christian Holy Bible.

As for the etymology, armageddon originates from the Hebrew expression ha ha megiddo, which means "mount of Megido", a place located approximately 30 km south of Nazareth. On this hill or hill there were several battles relevant to the Hebrew people.

In the Bible, the word Armageddon only appears once, in Revelation 16:16: "Then the three spirits gathered them together in the place which, in Hebrew, is called Armageddon." The Bible suggests that in this place the final conflict between God and the evil spirits will take place. Some authors claim that the passage at Jeremiah 46:10 is also a reference to Armageddon, and so they believe this location is near the Euphrates River.

The word armageddon is often related to the End of Times, through a final battle of total destruction. It is also often used to describe a major and important conflict. For this reason, this word is quite common in many movies and series.
