However, it is expected that Enem will have a new format from 2015 onwards. One of the points that could be changed is the insertion of discursive questions, as already applied by Fuvest or Comvest. However, many students are already being impacted by the new curriculum, especially those in public schools.
The new model was planned to be implemented gradually, lasting since 2022, with the practice of subjects that will not be included in the current Enem model. Furthermore, the subjects also offer subjects that will not be required in the tests.
New high school model
The new secondary education proposal increases the workload from 2,400 to 3,000 hours over the three years of education. This increase would also be filled with optional subjects. Thus, half of the classes would be mandatory and equal for all students. In this installment, students would have the following subjects: mathematics, Portuguese, physics, chemistry, biology, history, geography, philosophy and sociology.
The other part of the studies would be chosen by the student himself, in relation to the subjects he wishes to delve deeper into, called training itineraries. They are divided between four areas:
- Languages;
- Humanities and Social Sciences;
- Natural Sciences;
- Mathematics.
What changes can happen to Enem?
If the New Enem is held in 2025, the exam will change according to the high school curriculum. The first day of the test would be the same for all students, with interdisciplinary questions. On the second day, the tests will be carried out according to the optional areas.
In addition, discursive questions and statements about the English language would be required. The current model has essays and 90 language and human sciences questions on the first day.
On the second day, there are 90 questions about mathematics and natural sciences. Students can choose the foreign language for their test, being able to choose between English or Spanish.
