Attention teachers: financial education course will be available

The series of free courses Financial education in Schools was launched in May by CVM (Comissão de Valores Mobiliários) and by Sebrae (Brazilian Support Service for Micro and Small Companies). The partnership was established between the institutions, with the MEC (Ministry of Education), and had the support of Instituto XP and B3.

The event took place at the headquarters of Sebrae Minas, in Belo Horizonte, and was broadcast live on the channel Sebrae on YouTube, reaching an audience throughout the national territory. This initiative aims to promote financial education among students, providing essential knowledge for a better understanding of personal finance and investments.

Education professionals win financial education course

The proposal was launched during the National Financial Education Week event, which is now in its 10th edition. The event, named “Financial Education: acting today for sustainability in tomorrow”, is aimed at those who work in the classroom.

Thus, municipal education secretaries, school directors and teachers, pedagogical coordinators and those responsible for teaching in general, whether public or private institutions, will have guaranteed access to the course.

The course is aimed at teachers who teach from the 1st to the 9th year of Elementary School, in the private or public network and throughout Brazil. This is a discussion that is being established little by little, as experts see it as a unique opportunity to teach financial education in schools.

CVM's aim is to make sure that high school students are reached by the training course, which takes place in a fully virtualized way. It is hoped that the topic will be addressed in the classroom for Elementary Education, through professionals.

According to the organization of the course, there are trails available about the BNCC (Base Nacional Comum Curricular), directed towards financial education and focused on the sustainable development established by the UN (Organization of United Nations).
