Of this amount, R$524,811,239.34 is allocated to priority taxpayers, including those who used the Pre-filled Declaration or who chose to receive the refund via PIX. The remainder will be passed on to 144,367 non-priority taxpayers.

How to check the IRPF refund?

To check whether the taxpayer is entitled to the residual amount of the refund, he must access the website of IRS. On the website, just follow the step by step below:

  • Click on “Income Tax”;
  • Select the “Check my refund” tab;
  • Enter your CPF number;
  • Enter the date of birth;
  • Select the current year. In this case, choose the “2023” option.

The Federal Revenue also provides an application that allows you to check information about the release of Income Tax refunds and the registration status of a CPF. It is worth remembering that refund payments will be made to the bank accounts informed in the IR declaration, directly or by indicating the PIX key.

The value is updated according to the Selic rate, accumulated from the month following the deadline for submitting the declaration until the month before payment, plus 1% in the month of deposit.

Pending Income Tax

The taxpayer may also request detailed information about their declaration. To do this, you will need to use the “My Income Tax” channel, available on the e-CAC Portal or in applications for smartphones and tablets. With the consultation, it will be possible to check what happened with the declaration and what the tax situation is.

If necessary, the taxpayer may submit a rectifying declaration, correcting the errors in the first document submitted. If the result of the rectifying declaration is a refund, the excess amount paid tax will be returned to the taxpayer's bank account.
