This design choice keeps in line with the theme of maps and location, something fundamental to the application's functionality.

The change did not go unnoticed by observers, who pointed out that the new logo follows the company's line, featuring a crosshair design with the company's four emblematic colors.

Application update

According to information released by 9to5Google, the “Find My Device” application is undergoing a transformation significant.

Once restricted to smartphones, it is now expanding to cover a variety of devices, including tablets, watches and headphones.

This change brings Google's service closer to what Apple already offers with its “Search” service, which allows you to track and locate devices associated with an Apple account, regardless of the type.

Google aims to create a similar experience by making it easier for its users to find and recover their lost or stolen devices.

The expansion of the app to include a variety of electronic devices also raises the chances of Google implementing more changes and features in the app.

Mishaal Rahman, an Android expert, brought up the idea that the company is exploring a function that allows users to mark a device as “lost”. This could send notifications to users as soon as the device is found.

This feature seems to be following a similar trend to features already present in trackers such as Tile and AirTags.
