You drinks may have insects as ingredients and coffee, alcoholic beverages, as well as the famous curry, which consists of crickets shaped like meatballs and dried garnish. Another food that we can mention is the sashimi produced with the extract of aquatic insect.
CNN Brasil spoke with Takeo Saito, owner of a restaurant and also a company called Takeo Inc. which produces 60 types of treats made from tarantulas, scorpions and arthropods.
The owner explained what he is looking for in his venture: “Our aim is not for insects to be something separate, but for them to be enjoyed on the same table as vegetables, fish and meat,” said Saito.

Here in Brazil, there are some indigenous groups that consume insects, but it is not common to see this in restaurants and bars. However, we are seeing this practice grow worldwide.
