Cuteness: Woman finds badger cub asking for help during walk

A scene of cuteness took over one weekend in the life of Claire Robinson and her daughter. They visited the Cotswold Water Park in England. The place is known for having beautiful lakes and a bucolic and pleasant landscape and a lot of interaction with animals. But they didn't expect the interaction with a baby badger to be SO close.

In an interview with The Dodo website, Claire said that she and her daughter were only five minutes away from the park when they noticed movement in the distance: “we saw a man coming towards us with a cub of badger on your heels”.

She said she was surprised by the animal. That's because badgers are nocturnal creatures and it's very rare to see cubs walking freely around without their mother around. I mean, something was wrong.

Baby badger was behaving strangely

“The little pup was making a high-pitched noise and following the man. He didn't leave him at all. I kept biting his boot; clearly something was out of kilter,” the woman said.

Claire deduced, then, that the animal needed something. When the man got closer to the woman and her daughter, the small animal let go of his heel to stick to their feet.

“The little badger started chattering at our feet, and the man walked away and left us,” she recalled. “The animal was making noise and trying to bite our shoes, but it wasn't aggression. It was very strange, it looked like it was trying to stop us from leaving.”

Help has arrived, little animal!

Claire took the step to call a hospital veterinarian local. That way she would have some kind of guidance on how to act with the puppy. To her surprise, apparently the problem was that he had lost his mother. That's why he was so desperate.

“I had to grab him by the scruff of the neck, like his mother would, and wrap him in my coat. As soon as I did, he stopped the noise and calmed down,” said the woman, who was guided by professionals via phone call the entire time.

Claire dropped the little guy off at the hospital, he was treated, and when he was 100% he would be released back into the wild.
