In Gus' world, a virus was responsible for killing almost all of humanity. However, the scientists who remained discovered a way to configure the human genome to create human-animal hybrids.
As a result of scientific discovery, half-human/half-animals like Gus are now the dominant species on the planet.
Fans lamented the series' cancellation.
The announcement that Sweeth Tooth would be canceled was given by Netflix through its official Twitter profile. “Sweet Tooth will return for a third and final season!” the company said.
As it could not be otherwise, fans of the series immediately began to complain and regret the fact. "I haven't been happy and sad at the same time in a long time," said one user.
Amidst the sadness, a fan showed hope. “Beware: they say it will be the last [season], but I am hopeful for a new season,” he said.
Regardless, as far as anyone knows, Netflix's decision to pull Gus and his friends off the air is final.
