Brazilian cities have FGTS withdrawal released due to public calamity
The FGTS rules already establish that the citizen can make the withdrawal in case of natural disaster that has reached the area of residence of the INSS insured person. Thus, cities, regions or areas that have experienced natural disasters often have this benefit available.
This has already happened in countless Brazilian cities and will now happen again in the cities of Murici (AL), Rio Negro (PR) and Lauro Muller (SC). In this case, citizens will have until the following dates to carry out the withdrawal in the places indicated by the Civil Defense:
- October 2nd – Murici (AL);
- September 26 – Rio Negro (PR);
- September 8 – Lauro Muller (SC).
Furthermore, it is worth remembering that it is not enough to be a resident of these cities to obtain the benefit. Since, in order to receive the FGTS, the worker must have a positive balance in the active and inactive accounts of the FGTS. Not to mention that withdrawing for the same reason in the last 12 months can also exclude the possibility of a new withdrawal.
How to make a withdrawal request
Before going to the location indicated by the Civil Defense of each city, citizens must apply for the withdrawal. To do this, you will need to access and download the “FGTS” application, which is available for both Android and iOS phones. So just follow these steps:
- Open the application and access the “My Withdrawal” option;
- Search for “Other Looting Situations – Public Calamity” in the list of situations;
- Enter the city where you live.
Thus, you will have access to all information regarding your withdrawal, such as whether it is released and the amount you can receive. Depending on the situation, the citizen may receive up to a maximum of R$ 6,220.00 from this withdrawal.
