Now, the distributors have announced that the credit for consumers who have saved must be included in the January invoice. According to the Brazilian Association of Electric Energy Distributors (Abradee), the total value of the credit should be around R$ 1.62 billion. See what the criteria are for receiving the credit.

Who is entitled to credit?

The program determines that this bonus will be valid for all those who committed to reducing consumption between September and December 2021. To measure the discount, the amount spent on this invoice will be considered in comparison with the invoice for the previous year, 2020.

So, if the person saved 10% in the month, using the previous year's account as a reference, he will receive a discount. At most, this discount can only reach 20% savings and, according to data from the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel), the rebate will be R$0.50% for each kWH.

Payments

According to Marcos Madureira, president of Abradee, it will be necessary to postpone the release of the benefit. The reason for this postponement would be the loan to the sector, thus, it is necessary to wait until the complete payment of the debt. For those who don't know, this aid was made through a provisional measure (MP) and was intended to provide support to energy companies.

However, the government guarantees that by the end of the current president's term, this promise must be fulfilled. Still according to Madureira, the distributors would be going through a difficult time of scarce resources.

Thus, these companies would be unable to afford any investment exceeding R$ 20 billion. Therefore, there are high chances of the money dropping or not for now. In the meantime, let's hope we don't lose out.
