Who receives the gas voucher?
The payment of the gas voucher came as a way to help low-income families in the face of constant increases in the price of cylinders. This December alone, more than 5.58 million families receive the money from the gas voucher. It was another one of the measures adopted in the face of unemployment due to the Covid-19 pandemic. But the benefit is expected to last for quite some time.
Today in the country the average price charged for the cylinder is R$ 102.46. Despite this, each city charges a different price. So much so that in some regions a 13-kilogram cooking gas can cost up to R$ 130.00.
The second installment of the gas voucher benefit is scheduled for February next year. Furthermore, according to the federal government, the social program was created to last for the next 5 years. That is, there will be a total of 30 installments until the end of the program.
To receive the gas voucher it is necessary to have the data updated in the Cadastro Único (CadÚnico) or who receives the Benefit of Continued Provision (BPC). It is valid for those who have a family income less than or equal to half the minimum wage, which is R$ 550.00.
The payment of the gas voucher will be made through the delivery of vouchers. Thus, they can be exchanged for the gas cylinder in specific stores.
