More than 30 new cars will be reduced in price; know what they are!

This Thursday (25), the federal government released a series of measures aimed at reducing car prices for consumers.

According to the National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea), it is expected that, with the measures, the most accessible models will be below R$ 60 thousand.

Among the actions announced are the reduction of taxes such as PIS, Cofins and IPI for cars that cost up to R$ 120 thousand. Discounts vary between 1.5% and 10.96%, depending on each case.

More than 30 models are included in this list, including options such as hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs and pickup trucks.

Additionally, the government announced that it will base itself on three aspects to guide the granting of discounts: social coverage (for cars more accessible), energy efficiency (reducing the emission of pollutants) and industrial density (prioritizing parts produced nationally).

In this way, it is expected that car models that meet these three prerequisites will have even greater tax discounts.

The Ministry of Finance is still studying the decrees to define how it will apply them in practice.

The folder will have a period of 15 days to present the criteria that will be used in the creation of a decree for the reduction of the IPI, as well as a provisional measure (MP) for the reduction of PIS/Cofins.

Once ready, these proposals will be forwarded for approval to the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.
