ANVISA suspends the sale of Fugini products, a sauce manufacturer

Last Wednesday, the 29th, the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) determined that the commercialization of Fugini brand products, known for the manufacture of sauces, in particular, tomato sauces and products in canned.

After inspection carried out at the Fugini Alimentos factory, located in the Monte Alto region, in the interior of São Paulo, ANVISA determined the suspension in a preventive way, after detecting failures considered serious.

Food quality control, according to the ANVISA, is compromised due to failures in terms of hygiene, pest control and traceability, which means the location of food from when it was a raw material until it becomes a final product.

Suspension of manufacture, sale and use of Fugini products in Monte Alto

The inspection carried out at the Fugini Alimentos factory, in the interior of São Paulo, took place together. In addition to ANVISA, the Sanitary Surveillance Center of São Paulo and the Municipal Sanitary Surveillance of Monte Alto were at the forefront of the analysis.

For ANVISA, the irregularities present at the factory in Monte Alto could compromise the quality of the final product, with damage to consumer safety.

Published on the 30th, Thursday, ANVISA determined the collection of batches of mayonnaise made by Fugini between 12/20/2022 and 03/21/2023, with expiration date for December 2023, lot number starting from 354.

Likewise, products with any batch with an expiration date between the months of January, February and March 2024 must also be collected.

According to ANVISA, in the manufacture of mayonnaise an ingredient out of date was used.

Thus, in addition to the collection of mayonnaise batches, other products from the factory are also suspended, as determined by ANVISA.

After the action carried out by ANVISA, the company made a statement on its social networks about the matter and said that the inspection made Fugini make changes to its internal production processes in foods.

With the recall of Fugini's mayonnaise line, the company claims that due to an operational error the product was manufactured with a component out of date.
