In addition to being a great social network for chatting with friends during quarantine, WhatsApp is also a tool for sharing school content.
One of the initiatives aimed at this social network is the Aprendizap 6th — 9th grade, developed by Fundação 1Bi with support from Grupo Movile, Fundação Lemann and Imaginable Futures.
The purpose of the tool is to make content created by partner teachers available to students from the 6th to the 9th grade of elementary school.
The subjects covered are: Portuguese Language, Mathematics, History, Geography, Sciences (chemistry and physics), English and Arts, following the National Common Curriculum Base.
To take advantage of the service, the student just needs to send a “hi” to the number (11) 97450-6763 or access the contact through the link. Then it is necessary to read the instructions received and inform what year the student is. From this, a trail of 10 contents, with videos, texts and exercises, will be sent weekly to the student.
The contents are renewed every week so that the tool is always up to date. Students joining later can either come back for the first few weeks or follow up from current content. Learn more about this initiative clicking here.
As for the candidates, it is possible to use WhatsApp to share content and answer questions from colleagues. It is also possible to chat and relax with friends from school or the course via video, which helps to take care of mental health in this moment of uncertainty.
YouTube
The platform is probably already known by many students, as it contains a large collection of free video lessons. As many teachers use the social network to share their knowledge, there is a lot of material on YouTube from virtually every subject.
In addition to the video lessons, it is possible to find several lives (live broadcasts on the internet) during the quarantine period that address school content, as well as current events. In this way, the student can interact with the teacher and continue studying in real time without leaving home.
Instagram, Facebook and Twitter
As these three social networks have different subjects, the student needs more wisdom to use the platforms in their studies. Therefore, the tip is to follow education pages and major newspapers to find out what is happening in the world.
As with YouTube, many teachers also have profiles on these social networks to share school content and answer questions. In addition to the interactivity in the publications themselves, social networks also have the group feature, which allow conversation and the sending of interesting content between colleagues.
It is important to point out that all the mentioned social networks are not without problems, such as fake news and many distractions. Therefore, it is essential that students know how to filter the content they consume, select reliable sources and focus on publications that will actually help with their studies.
