Preoccupation with revenue is what will lead TIM to cancel mobile phone lines

The idea behind canceling customers with no financial transactions in the company has a logical purpose, according to Alberto. The operator's president claims that it only makes sense to keep as a customer those who use the telephone line and generate revenue through top-ups or telephone bills.

According to him, OI's way of canceling is different, therefore, as the numbers have now migrated to TIM, the idea is to implement the same policy for the new phones. This same strategy is also adopted by Vivo, when receiving OI customers. According to the operator, more than 3 million OI customers who migrated had their numbers deactivated. This number represents 25% of the total number of customers received from OI, of 12 million.

TIM, in turn, can make a big cut. That's because there were more than 17 million customers received from OI. The numbers, however, have not yet been revealed by the presidency of the mobile operator.

The motivation behind the cancellations is exactly to have customers who can cover all maintenance costs of an operator, as well as generate revenue. If the cut percentage is similar to that of Vivo, more than 4.2 million customers will lose their numbers

The variables behind cancellation are diverse. Established by Anatel, the National Telecommunications Agency, the disconnection of the customer can happen by failure to receive calls, failure to top-up, failure to pay bills, among others factors.
