A team specializing in this matter was called in to attend the site and solve the problem.
Five flights with changed routes
Until the problem was resolved, five flights had to change their trajectory and land at other airports. GRU Airport reported that the drone landed on the runway from 4:15 pm to 4:44 pm and from 5:40 pm to 5:51 pm. Only then could the flights return to Guarulhos.
Using drones improperly is a crime
People caught using drones in prohibited or inappropriate places can respond to civil, administrative and even criminal proceedings. Drones can be used for military purposes, transport weapons or cameras, and take covert footage. In addition, they can be confused with other objects in the air. At an airport, security is paramount; therefore, the administration understood that it was necessary to redirect flights to other airports.
Drone usage manual
A ANAC, Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil, a federal agency that regulates civil aviation actions in Brazil, created a primerabout the use of drones. It provides guidelines for the legal and responsible use of drones in the country. Therefore, if you are thinking of buying a drone or using your friend's, remember to read the booklet to find out the rights and duties for using it.
