Car manufacturer Jeep has announced that, as of June 1, 2022, 100% of cars with gasoline and diesel combustion engines will no longer be available to the public in France. Thus, the company will only market hybrid cars, being the second brand to adopt such a measure. The first was Stellantis.

The decision was inserted into the elaborate roadmap that will see the manufacturer exclusively offer electrified models in Europe by 2025.
Only e-Hybrid and 4xe
Jeep's decision will have a direct impact on the Renegade and Compass models, which have not yet been equipped with non-electrified engines. However, French customers will only be able to order its petrol or diesel model until May 30th. After that date, only e-Hybrids (light hybrid) and 4xe will remain on the list.
The Wrangler and Grand Cherokee models are exclusively available as “rechargeable” hybrids, while the Gladiator pickup truck will continue to be offered with a diesel engine.
Jeep announced that Italy will be an exception in Europe, as the gasoline and diesel engines of the Renegade and Compass are still in high demand and will remain on the list.
Electrification coming soon
In the future, the presence of completely electric models will be a reality. Next year, the public will see the first zero-emission Jeep. The plan is for at least 85 new battery-powered models to be launched by 2030, following the ''Dare Forward 230'' plan.
For 2024, 45 new electric cars are planned, while the others will be introduced in later years.
Brazil
The brand is still walking slowly in the context of electrification here, and this week it launched the Jeep Compass 4xe, the plug-in hybrid version. New models are expected to be launched soon, such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe.
