Twitter assumes removal of accounts
Since the beginning of the armed confrontation between Russia and Ukraine, with the invasion of Ukrainian territory, there has been talk of deleting accounts on Twitter. This is because some users noticed that several profiles were being deleted, but it was believed that this was a result of mass reports on the platform.
However, Twitter's director, Yoel Roth, stated that the question was not related to the reports, which raised suspicions about the site's moderators. Given this, Roth assumed that there were errors on Twitter's part, but that the accounts that suffered the impact resulted from monitoring misinformation.
Still according to Roth, it is misinformation that forces Twitter to take more restrictive measures, in particular in these crucial moments, but that, unfortunately, some accounts end up being unduly affected.
The bug is being fixed
Yoel concluded his announcement with the assurance that Twitter moderators are already working on recovering accounts that have been wrongly blocked. On the other hand, he also made it clear that he will continue with all the monitoring, in order to avoid the spread of fake news or biased news.
This issue is even raised at a time when Twitter suffers from several cyberattacks that seek to disseminate ideological propaganda on the social network. So much so that many users have chosen to delete their account on the platform, while others seek to take more efficient security measures.
