After the termination of contracts related to outsourced services, including the telesales channel, now when a consumer tries to make a purchase this way, he will hear a recorded message that says: “Dear customer, our telesales service has been closed. You can take advantage of our offers on our app or website. Thanks".
Americanas had already begun to cut personnel costs and to interrupt contracts with companies that provided “expendable” services. The debt that the group is trying to overcome is R$41 billion.
The company recently made it clear: “conducting its judicial recovery process, one of whose objectives is to guarantee the continuity of the company's activities, including the payment of salaries and benefits of its employees in day".
Recuperation plan
According to the group, there is a recovery plan that will define what the company's actions will be for the coming months.
According to certain sources, this plan will include the closure of some American stores, which, unfortunately, it can lead to layoffs as part of the cost-cutting you will have to implement while negotiating a return.
Americanas informed that it is discussing with Jorge Paulo Lemann, Marcel Telles and Carlos Alberto Sicupira, who form the trio of reference shareholders, about the negotiation with banks with a loan of the DIP modality (debtor in possession). It acts as a bridge loan, a resource sought mainly by companies undergoing judicial recovery, which must request something from R$ 1 billion.
The lack of guarantees, on the other hand, is what has been generating certain impasses in the negotiations.
Anyway, Americanas added to its team of lawyers, Cristiano Zanin Martins and Valeska Teixeira Zanin Martins, who are partners in the law firm that defended President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in the Lava-Jato Operation processes.
