Health professionals who are looking to improve their knowledge can take advantage of the opportunity offered by the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). The institution has 3,500 vacancies divided into three free online specialization courses in the health sector. Entries can be made until May 31, 2015.
The courses are part of the Distance Multicenter Professional Qualification Program in Home Care, produced by the Education Center in Collective Health at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Nescon/UFMG), under the coordination of the Ministry of Health, Secretariat for Work Management and Education in Health and Open University of SUS (MS/SGTES-UNASUS).

- Home care in the basic health network
The main objective of this course is to qualify the health teams of the basic units in the care of the person in home care. The same is indicated for higher and medium-level health professionals and even SUS managers registered in the National Health Registry (CNES). The workload is 45 hours.
- Principles for home care by higher education professionals
The course has as its object health care whose complexity, frequency and specificity impose intervention and action of higher-level health professionals in caring for people in all forms of home care (HC). The same is suggested for higher-level health professionals who work in the Home Care Service (SAD) and other services of the SUS Health Care Network, registered in the National Health Register (CNES). Its workload is 60 hours.
- Oxygen therapy and mechanical ventilation in home care
The objective of the course is to qualify health professionals to care for people receiving oxygen therapy or mechanical ventilation at home. The target audiences are professionals from Basic Health Units (UBS) and Multiprofessional Health Teams. Home Care (EMAD) and Multiprofessional Support Teams (EMAP) of SAD, registered in the National Health Register (CNES). The workload is 60 hours.
