The human head is made up of bones that fit together, making up the skull whose function is to protect the brain. Between the skull and the brain there are still other protections called meninges and cerebrospinal fluid. These cephalic structures are connected, one to another by the nerves, until the brain, which receives sensations and perceptions, memorizing them or not and transmitting them.
The skull is made up of eight bones, two parietal bones, two temporal bones, one frontal, one occipital, one sphenoid and one ethmoid. Its anterior part is called the face and the posterior part of the neck. The face is made up of fourteen bones, there are two maxillas, two zygomatics, two lacrimals, two nasals, two inferior turbinates, two palatine bones, a vomer and a mandible.
The neck, on the other hand, is made up of seven cervical vertebrae that make connections with the skull, clavicles and spine. It is also made up of muscles that allow the head to move. Its interior is composed of the larynx, trachea, esophagus, thyroid gland, hyoid bone, thyroid cartilage and cricoid cartilage.
It is extremely sensitive, as once sectioned, it causes the individual to lose his life by interrupting communication between the body and the brain.
