Many Brazilians should now withdraw the amount related to the PIS allowance in February, but certainly others will not withdraw it. And this is a situation that is repeated a lot, since there are more than R$ 50 billion in money held in financial institutions.

But this value does not concern only the money related to the PIS allowance, but also the Pasep, in addition to the Severance Pay Fund (FGTS). However, the Central Bank is already taking measures to make the population pay attention and recover the money forgotten in banks.

Amounts forgotten in banks

The Central Bank has warned Brazilians about the amount of money stopped in banks. In this case, these amounts are retained when checking or savings accounts are closed without the citizen withdrawing the available amount.

In addition, undue bank fees or consortium resources that have not been redeemed can also configure this value. In order for Brazilians to have access to this amount and be able to withdraw the money, the Central Bank launched the “Valores Receivables” platform.

This tool performs a query to find out if there is any amount of money withheld from the person in question. So, if any, the Central Bank also shows withdrawal options for redemption.

FGTS, PIS and Pasep

Many Brazilians did not withdraw the FGTS when it was possible. Therefore, more than R$ 18 billion are retained in FGTS accounts and can be withdrawn directly by the worker. For example, many who resign do not know that, after three years without a formal job, they are entitled to an exclusive withdrawal.

On the other hand, many workers leave a job, do not withdraw the amount and lose the amount, as soon after they get another job with a formal contract. Furthermore, a large part of the PIS/Pasep quota for workers who were employed between 1970 and 1988 is also withheld. This value concerns both employees of private companies and public employees. Finally, check the tool and see if you have money forgotten in banks.
