What's new on CNH?
First of all, it is important to understand that the changes were established through resolution 886, of the National Traffic Council (Contran). Among them, the possibility of presenting the digital version is one that most pleased drivers. In addition, the physical version now has a security paper and fluorescent inks, which can only be read using UV (ultraviolet) light.
Furthermore, it will be possible to differentiate between temporary and permanent licenses. Now, the letter “D” will be highlighted, for those who already have the final version of the document, while the driver who has permission to drive will be identified by the letter “P”.
Another very important point is that it will now have the same international code used in the passport, the MRZ (Machine Readable Zone). Now, drivers will be able to board at different airport self-service terminals. The document will also be accepted in other countries that use the same system.
Will there be any changes to the expiry date?
To summarize, it is worth noting that there will be no changes to the validity of the new CNH. Therefore, the term of the document will remain the same: ten years for drivers under 50 years of age, five for those between 50 and 69 years of age and three years for those aged 70 and over.
The score will also not change. Thus, the limit will remain at 40 points, and the driver will only be able to reach this score if he has not committed any infraction. very serious, or 30 points, when he can commit only one very serious infraction, and 20 points if the driver has two or more infractions very serious.
