You know that viral meme on the Internet that says “trying to execute the lie of the curriculum“? Well, in real life, tampering with the truth of information in public or private documents with the intention of gaining advantage for oneself, constitutes a crime of ideological falsehood. It is on this charge that the Federal University of Sao Paulo (USP) faces problems in relation to a possible selection process fraud.
Between the 2nd and the 12th of May, the Department of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences (FFLCH) opened a competition for a professorship in the area of Literary Theory and Comparative Literature. This selection process is being investigated because the first place candidate, Fernando Baião Viotti, would have declared experience at the Federal University of Ouro Preto, without having any connection with the institution, according to a report signed by the UFPO Registration and Registration Coordination, at the request of another candidate competitor.

On the other hand, Fernando Viotti, at first, did not respond to requests for clarification, but later spoke alongside a lawyer, who presented a document signed by the head of the FFLCH, Colégio Roberto Gonçalves, which he would have taught in the University. Viotte's Defense claims that there are other means of proof, such as paychecks, former colleagues and former students.
