At the outset, it is important to emphasize that the consumption of foods expired is not recommended. We will only inform food that, based on research carried out, that these foods are not harmful to health and can be consumed without major problems. Of course, the analyzed foods were manufactured with quality and responsibility.

- Pasta and rice: These products keep for up to one year after the expiration date, provided they are stored correctly;
- Cheese: The time that the product remains consumable may vary, depending on the characteristics of the cheese. Hard cheese, for example, is preserved for another 10 months, while softer cheese only lasts 10 days. The important thing is to check the appearance of the product before eating, checking for mold or a more yellowish tone than ideal. Fresh cheeses, if they have just expired, can be used in cooked recipes;
- Flour: The flour can usually be consumed up to six months after its expiration date, depending on how the product is stored;
- Chocolate bar: Although it rarely survives that long in the pantry, chocolate can remain usable for up to 2 years, with a few changes in flavor;
- Coffee: Coffee, when in an airtight package, can survive up to a year after expiration. Now, if already opened, the ideal is to consume it until the expiration date;
- Sausage: If they are of reliable origin and correctly stored at home, they can be consumed up to 10 days after the expiry date. However, it is necessary to boil them for at least 10 minutes, as a safety measure. If after boiling no signs appear that the product is spoiled, you can eat normally;
- Egg: If the use of the egg is in its raw form, as in mayonnaise, the ideal is to use it as fresh as possible. Now, if they are boiled, whole eggs are preserved for 21 days in the refrigerator;
- Yogurt: Finally, yoghurts can be ingested up to one week after its expiration date. They just need to be properly preserved in the fridge. If the product has already been opened, it is possible to check whether it has any signs of spoilage, and, if not, consumption is possible.
