According to the coordinator of the Laboratory of Reptiles and Amphibians (Reptan) at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), Nicolás Pelegrin, the snake did not belong to a venomous species, so there was no need to panic. However, due to the fact that these snakes can bite, it is important that the handling is carried out by professionals, as the bite can cause a series of secondary inflammations.

Nicolás Pelegrin states that it is very common for cases like this to occur in less urbanized regions, close to forests and/or streams.

It is worth noting that it is in no way recommended to capture wild animals on your own, whether they are venomous or not. Therefore, if you find a wild animal in your home or in an urban environment, contact the Fire Department by calling 193.

How to proceed when finding a wild animal?

When finding wild animals, it is very important to know how to proceed so that everything goes as smoothly as possible. The first thing to know is that you shouldn't pick up, touch or move the animal, whatever it is and whether it appears to be injured or not.

The second thing you need to do is get in touch with the local Environmental Police or the Fire Department, as these professionals have been trained to know how to proceed in this type of situation.
