official calendar
The MEC published last Tuesday (18) the official calendar for opening registration for the programs University for All (Prouni), Student Financing Fund (Fies) and Unified Selection System (Sisu). Enrollments for Sisu and Prouni, according to the responsible body, will start in February and those for Fies, in March. Check the dates:
- sisu: Registration from 02/15 to 02/18
- pronounce: Registration from 22 to 25/02
- Fies: Registration from 08 to 11/03
MEC programs offer vacancies to public and private universities or funding of vacancies in private institutions. Prouni provides full or partial scholarships (50%) in private institutions of higher education.
Fies, on the other hand, offers financing to undergraduate students, also at private colleges, with a positive evaluation by the MEC. Finally, Sisu is the program that guarantees students access to vacancies in public institutions of higher education.
How to apply?
Entries are made exclusively online, free of charge and using the score obtained in the National High School Examination (Enem). The classification criterion in the MEC programs is precisely the grade that the student obtained in the most current edition of the Enem. Those who have already taken any of the Enem tests from 2010 onwards can apply for Fies vacancies.
MEC's executive secretary, Victor Godoy, confirmed the calendar and declared, in a video published on Twitter of the Minister of Education, Milton Ribeiro, who will increase the number of vacancies in universities throughout the country.
In addition, Godoy stated that 110,925 places will be offered by Fies, but those offered by Sisu and Prouni are still were not disclosed, as well as the notices of each one, which should be published soon in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU).
