In 2022, contrary to what was expected, there was only a salary bonus paid to those who worked in 2020. For this reason, everything indicates that PIS/Pasep 2023 is aimed at those who formally worked in the months of 2021.

PIS/Pasep 2023 – Who is entitled to the allowance?

To be entitled to PIS/Pasep, it is necessary to meet some requirements. Regarding payments for 2023, whose base year is 2021, more specifically, it will be necessary:

  • Have performed paid activity for at least 30 days in 2021;
  • Have received up to two minimum wages per month in 2021;
  • Have a PIS/Pasep registration for at least five years and have updated data;
  • In addition, the employer must have sent the worker's information in the Annual Social Information List (RAIS), otherwise the deposit will not be made.

It should be noted that the calculation of the allowance is made according to the months worked in the base year, that is, the amount to be paid in PIS/Pasep respects a proportional rule. Therefore, the more months worked, the greater the amount received.

The values are defined according to the expected update of the minimum wage value for the year in which the payment is made. Therefore, most likely the amount of the allowance will be at least R$ 108.00 and a maximum of R$ 1,294.00.

How are payments made?

For the PIS, which is intended for workers of private companies, the payment of the allowance is made at Caixa Econômica Federal branches. The PASEP, which is the allowance for civil servants, is paid through Banco do Brasil.

Calendar

So far, there is no official calendar for PIS/Pasep 2023 payments. However, the expectation is that the allowance will begin to be paid in the first half of next year, something that is already relatively close.
