The federal government, in an initiative of the Ministry of Women, Family and Human Rights (MMFDH) in partnership with the Institute for Development of Children and Adolescents through Culture and Sport (IDECACE), aims to ensure the progress of young talents in the sport. In view of this, the “Programa DNA do Brasil Talentos” was created, launched on March 22 in Porto Nacional (TO).

Thus, for carrying out these actions, approximately R$19.6 million raised through parliamentary amendments from the Tocantins bench were allocated. With this amount, it is estimated that more than 380 health professionals, such as physical education teachers, managers and directors will be able to offer around 190 lectures that address the theme "sport". A working group (GP) was also created, with the participation of entities from industry, commerce, the sports federation itself and some clubs.
This initiative focuses on the premise of detecting new talents for sport in Brazil, as well as providing assistance to young people in situations of social vulnerability and violence. It is also intended to offer distance learning courses for young people, with a dynamic methodological approach based on natural and social sciences, such as biology, psychology, sociology, motor and vocational. Evidently, this methodological approach aims to identify the possible processes of violence that young people may be going through.
According to Minister Damares Alves, “more than 46,000 students in vulnerable situations, in 63 municipalities in the state of Tocantins, will be covered. Sport is a great ally in protecting children and adolescents”.
Programs also benefit women
Finally, it is also important to highlight that the Ministry of Women, Family and Human Rights also included the women of Tocantins in its agenda. With a view to expanding and strengthening generational ties, approximately R$1.2 million was earmarked, which will effectively enable around 12,000 assistance to women in a situation of socioeconomic vulnerability in eight municipalities different.
Another initiative, called “Projeto Qualifica Mulher”, will serve around 10,000 women who are already benefited by the programs Canto em cada canto and Qualification and Economic Autonomy of Women in Tocantins, aiming to generate income for this population.
